CVC-led consortium chosen by Serie A clubs for exclusive talks

Italy’s Lega Serie A has decided to enter into exclusive negotiations with a consortium involving private equity firm CVC Capital Partners over the sale of a stake in a new entity to manage its media-rights business.

At a league assembly meeting held today (Tuesday), 15 clubs are thought to have voted in favour of the proposal involving CVC Capital Partners, fellow private equity firm Advent International, and Italy’s state-backed investor Fondo Strategico Italiano (FSI).
