Qatar-based bank Commercial Bank has extended its title sponsorship of the European Tour-sanctioned Qatar Masters golf tournament until 2022.

The private sector bank has title-sponsored the tournament since 2006.

The 23rd edition of the Qatar Masters will take place in March 2020 at the Education City Golf Club in Doha – the newest golf course on the European Tour calendar.

The course was designed by Spanish golfer José Maria Olazábal and offers views of the Doha skyline and the 2022 Education City World Cup Stadium.

The event is organised by The Qatar Golf Association, the Qatar Olympic Committee, Education City Golf Club and Commercial Bank.

Hussein al-Abdulla, chief marketing officer at Commercial Bank EGM, said the partnership between the four stakeholders will help showcase Qatar as a world-class destination for international sport.

“We are looking forward to widen the platform of this co-operation through supporting more sports activities in the future,” he said.

According to the Qatar Golf Association, the 2019 Qatar Masters reached a global television audience of over 450 million viewers.
