Cyprus-based betting operator CampoBet has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Champions Hockey League (CHL) – Europe’s leading club ice hockey competition – in Sweden.
The deal will give CampoBet a host of visibility rights, including branding on rink boards and media backdrops in Sweden during television broadcasts during the 2020-21 season.
The logo will also feature on under-ice advertising for the CHL round- of-16 if any Swedish team progresses to that point.
Throughout the tournament the sportsbook will also provide a range of fan engagement opportunities, including giveaways, offering VIP tickets to attend games and providing behind-the-scenes passes.
Boris Chaikin, chief executive of CampoBet, said that the brand’s sportsbook had proven popular with Swedish-based punters since its entry to the market and that sponsorship of the Champions Hockey League tournament would further enhance its following.
The Swedish team’s competing in the CHL this season include Lulea HF, Skellefteå AIK, Färjestad Karlstad, Rögle Angelholm, as well as the current champions Frölunda Indians.
The CHL playing format for the 2020 season will remain a knockout-only competition and starts at the round of 32 stage.
The tournament will start in mid-November because of the uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the related travel restrictions currently in place.
