As part of the three-year agreement, the tournament will be officially titled The Budweiser UK Open Darts Championship, with Budweiser providing headline sponsorship at the UK Open Finals, as well as supporting its Regional Final events.

The 10-month long Budweiser UK Open Darts Championship kicks off this October in Dublin with the Irish Regional Final, where the quest begins to qualify for the Budweiser UK Open Finals in 2004.

The eight Budweiser Regional Finals will culminate in a grand finale at Reebok Stadium in Bolton, June 4-6. The event, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, will feature the top 128 players in the UK Open Order of Merit.

Budweiser’s UK marketing director, Randall Blackford comments: “The Budweiser UK Open Darts Championships is really special as it gives recreational darts players the chance to compete against some of the top professionals in the country.

“Budweiser has a long tradition of supporting world-class sports, and we look forward to giving something back to darts fans and beer drinkers as we work together with the Professional Darts Corporation.”

Professional Darts Championship Chairman, Barry Hearn added: “Budweiser is one of the biggest brand names in the world, and we’re thrilled that the company has put its faith in the UK Open series. The Professional Darts Corporation’s long-term goals have always been to take the professional game to global heights and, with a sponsor such as Budweiser, we have a global partner to give credence to those goals.”
