Aragón will work on developing a “powerful, state-backed and unbeatable” bid for the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, according to the Aragón government’s Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, Felipe Faci.
The announcement comes after the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) formally confirmed the collapse of a proposed joint bid between Aragón and Catalunya for the 2030 Games, which had become a battleground between the two regions over the division of sporting events.
