AFL ‘meets with broadcasters’ ahead of domestic rights auction

A string of broadcasters have made pitches to Australian Football League (AFL) executives in recent weeks as the league continues to meet with prospective bidders for the next media rights cycle, it has been reported.

AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan and chairman Richard Goyder met with representatives from free-to-air broadcasters Seven, Nine and Ten last week, according to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. The officials are also reported to have met with delegates from pay-television operator Foxtel in recent weeks.
