The Asian Football Confederation has served notice to its media rights partner in China, Super Sports Media, that it intends to terminate their deal for the 2021-24 cycle due to unpaid fees.

The request for termination was reported in a notice to the Shanghai Stock Exchange published by Super Sports Media's listed parent company Wuhan DDMC Culture and Sports (DDMC). The notice said Super Sports Media had been unable to pay the AFC rights fee "due to the high debt ratio of the company in recent years, the shortage of operating cash flow, and the delayed collection of related receivables". Super Sports Media missed a payment of $45m (€45m) due to the AFC on October 1, 2022.
