London 2012 medallists sanctioned, anti-doping leaders call for immediate change

A further eight athletes, including three Kazakh gold medallists in weightlifting, have been sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after failing retests of their doping samples from London’s 2012 summer Olympic Games, while a group of national anti-doping agencies have called for all anti-doping functions to be freed from the influence of sporting bodies as well as organisers of events.
