The candidates for the 2023 Rugby World Cup: Intro

The race to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup will conclude in just a matter of weeks, with the World Rugby Council set to decide on November 15 whether France, Ireland or South Africa should host the tournament.

The winning bid will follow Japan, which will host the 2019 Rugby World Cup – the first competition in the history of the tournament to take place outside a traditional rugby union hotbed.

The three candidate unions submitted their bid files to Dublin-based World Rugby at the start of June, with The Sports Consultancy overseeing compliance to the submissions process as an independent assessor.
