Jurie Roux, chief executive of the SA Rugby national governing body, has confirmed that the men’s national team will not play any home Tests in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

SA Rugby and the British & Irish Lions have created a joint venture to maximise the appeal of the Lions’ Tour of South Africa in 2021.

SA Rugby, the governing body of rugby union in South Africa, has assumed management control of the Southern Kings, describing the move as a “last resort” to save the Pro14 team.
