Williams Racing has secured a payout of just over £26.2m (€30.5m/$32.1m) after winning a legal battle against former title sponsor, venture capital conglomerate Rokit.
The US-based company became the team’s title sponsor ahead of the 2019 Formula 1 season, and then extended the deal in July of the same year, meaning it was due to run through the 2023 season. Rokit instead exited its sponsorship of the team following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, prior to the start of the 2020 season.
