VOTE FOR ASIAN GAMES 2006 TAKES PLACE THIS WEEKEND

Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur are emerging as frontrunners, ahead of New Delhi and Doha.
“We have put in a good bid and I think our chances are good,” Tony Eason, secretary of Hong Kong’s bid committee, said from Pusan, host of the 2002 Games.
Forty-two members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will vote on Sunday to determine the winner.
Hong Kong’s decision to bid sparked controversy in the territory after a government study revealed that staging the Games would cost taxpayers HK$945 million (US$121 million).
