The United States Soccer Federation has been thrown into complete turmoil following an unseemly family rift between former US men's national team colleagues Claudio Reyna and Gregg Berhalter, and their respective wives, to mark a chaotic start to the four-year cycle leading into the 2026 Fifa World Cup being held in North America.

Earlier this week, Berhalter, who led the USMNT as head coach to the round of 16 during the recent World Cup in Qatar, disclosed on Twitter that he kicked his future wife Rosalind in the legs in an incident in 1991, with that information revealed after an unidentified individual threatened to use those details to “take him down” as the men’s national team coach.
