The European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) has awarded hosting rights for its 2019 European Acrobatic Championships and the 2020 European Rhythmic Championships to Israel and Ukraine, respectively, while the body’s executive committee members have voted in favour of continued participation at the European Games multi-sport event.
The Israeli city of Holon will stage the acrobatic event from October 21-27, 2019, with the Ukrainian capital of Kiev to stage the rhythmic competition from May 22-24, 2020.
Meanwhile, the body has committed to participating at the 2019 European Games, which will take place in Minsk, Belarus. It will mark the second edition of the event after Baku in Azerbaijan hosted the inaugural edition in 2015.
The Minsk event will feature the same disciplines as during the first edition: men’s artistic gymnastics, women’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, trampoline and aerobics.
The UEG also announced that a European age-group event in trampoline, tumbling and mini-trampoline will be organised in 2020 and has invited bids to host the competition.
