The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has outlined its financial expectations and proposed timeline for the award of its main package of domestic broadcast rights to the Copa del Rey tournament.
In going to market with its rights in Spain and Andorra, the RFEF has opted to offer the rights across three seasons, from 2022-23 to 2024-25. This comes after Spain’s competition watchdog, the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC), recently requested that the federation removed the option of four- or five-season deals to adhere to competition rules.
