The total revenue generated by football clubs in Germany’s Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 fell by 10.5 per cent to €4.05bn ($4.47bn) in the 2020-21 season, which was severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Compared with the last pre-pandemic season in 2018-19, the annual total revenue of the two leagues has fallen by more than €750m. The leagues’ combined revenue figures have not been as low since the 2016-17 campaign, when they stood at €4.01bn.
