OL Groupe, which operates French Ligue 1 football club Olympique Lyonnais, saw its revenue grow by 42 per cent to €252.5m ($257.9m) for the 2021-22 financial year, with the figures boosted by player sales and the return of fans following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company, which last month announced that American investor John Textor was set to become its majority shareholder, expects to post a net loss of between €50m and €60m for the financial year, compared to €107m posted in the previous year. OL Groupe’s revenue for 2020-21 stood at €177.4m.
