The protracted takeover saga at Washington Spirit appears close to a resolution after the National Women’s Soccer League paved the way for minority owner Y. Michele Kang to become the club's controlling owner.
Over the weekend, the NWSL's Board of Governors voted unanimously to allow the Spirit’s non-equity, nonvoting investors to become full equity shareholders and, as such, voting members of the club.
