Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s commercial rights-holder, is poised to strike a deal to take the motorcycling championship to India for the first time.

An agreement between Dorna and Noida-based race promoters Fairstreet Sports for the ‘Grand Prix of Bharat’ is expected to be announced this week, with the event likely to be held at the Buddh International Circuit, which staged an annual round of the Formula 1 championship from 2011 to 2013.
