The International Judo Federation (IJF) has announced that Olbia in Italy will host its Junior World Championships in 2021.

The IJF struck the agreement with FIJLKAM, the Italian federation for judo, karate and martial arts, earlier today (Friday). A date for the event has not yet been announced.

Olbia, which is in northeast Sardinia, previously hosted the 2017 IJF Veteran and Kata World Championships.

The IJF and FIJLKAM have also held talks over a potential grand prix event in Italy in 2021 and 2022.

This year’s Junior World Championships were held in Marrakesh, Morocco from October 16-19.

Italy will send a team of 11 judoka to the season-ending World Judo Masters, which takes place from December 12-14 in Guangzhou, China.
