The Board of Control for Cricket in India has postponed the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament "indefinitely", the Press Trust of India has reported.

The BCCI informed IPL teams of the move after the Indian government yesterday extended the country's Covid-19 lockdown until May 3. It has not yet officially announced the postponement. The BCCI had previously postponed the IPL's start date from March 29 to April 15. The tournament was originally due to finish on May 24.
