Formula 1’s Scuderia Ferrari has signed a renewal of its sponsorship deal with cyber security and data protection specialist Kaspersky.

The multi-year extension builds on an association which dates back to 2010, with the contract previously renewed in 2015.

Under the new agreement, Kaspersky becomes a sponsor of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) esports team for the first time after its launch in 2019. Its  logo will feature on the shirts of the FDA esports Ferrari drivers, as well as on the cars featured in the events the team takes part in.

Meanwhile, the brand’s logo will continue to feature on the clothing and helmets of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as well as the apparel of all team members. It will also continue to provide its services to protect Ferrari’s data, both at its headquarters in Maranello, Italy and at race tracks around the world.

Ferrari’s sponsorship portfolio is headlined by US cigarette and tobacco company Philip Morris International’s brand communication Mission Winnow, an initiative that is designed to create engagement around the role of science, technology and innovation as a powerful force for good in any industry.

This contract is due to expire at the end of 2021 and in an interview with Autosport.com, Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto suggested that while PMI’s sponsorship could continue, the Mission Winnow message may not be associated as title sponsor.

In July, the team bolstered its sponsorship portfolio with the signing of Amazon Web Services.

The 2021 Formula 1 championship concluded on December 12 with Ferrari finishing third in the constructors standings.
