EFL likely to run Serie-A style private equity auction, says investment expert

A leading investment expert has said that multiple private equity firms will be interested in buying a minority stake in the English Football League and predicted that the organisation will launch a Serie-A style tender process to identify the best offer.

Yesterday (Sunday) Sky News reported that American private equity firm TPG Capital was working with former BBC and Discovery executive Dominic Coles to prepare a £300m (€330m/$390.5m) bid for a 20 per-cent stake in the EFL’s commercial rights arm.
