Česká Televize, the Czech public-service broadcaster, has sold on rights to matches from the 2022 Fifa World Cup to commercial network TV Nova because of cost-cutting measures related to a drop in the licence fee value.

As a result of the sublicensing agreement, CT retains exclusive rights to 32 matches from the tournament, which will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18. Nova has secured exclusive rights to 18 matches and the other 14 matches will be aired by both broadcasters.
