Spain’s Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has initiated disciplinary action against telecoms operator Telefónica over a potential breach of commitments when it acquired DTS in 2015.
The competition watchdog said its decision forms part of the surveillance work it carried out to verify that Telefónica complies with the commitments for the approval of its takeover of DTS, previously known as Sogecable and a major player in the Spanish pay-TV market.
