Charlotte Independence relegates itself to USL League One amid arrival of Charlotte FC in MLS

United Soccer League Championship team Charlotte Independence is relegating itself to the third-tier USL League One starting in 2022.

The move comes with city neighbors Charlotte FC joining Major League Soccer next year.
