The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will launch a women’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in March, with either five or six teams competing in the inaugural season, according to reports.

The competition will begin immediately after the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa, which is scheduled to be staged from February 9 to 26, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI). The first edition of the competition will reportedly run for four weeks until the beginning of the men’s IPL at the end of March.
