Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that the Spanish club may have to raise further funds in order to gain league approval to start the new LaLiga season.

In the past month, Barcelona has raised €767m ($785m) through the activation of three economic ‘levers’, selling two tranches (10 per cent and 15 per cent) of its future LaLiga TV rights to US-based investment firm Sixth Street for a total of €667m and a 24.5 per cent stake in its in-house production operation Barça Studios to the Chiliz-owned fan token and engagement platform Socios.com for €100m.
