French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has announced the appointments of Markus Breglec and Tyson Henly as chief marketing officer and chief commercial officer, respectively.
The moves signal the club’s intentions to make greater waves in the commercial marketplace and develop the club’s presence internationally and develop its digital output.
The position of chief marketing officer is a newly-created role at the club, and Breglec brings with him over 20 years of experience working in marketing and digital roles in both the sport and technology sectors for the likes of Nike, adidas and Sony.
The German has previously worked in a similar capacity for Premier League leaders Liverpool FC, leaving his position of marketing and media director there last year.
Englishman Henly, meanwhile, arrives with a brief to develop the club’s wider commercial strategy and capitalise on its position as one of the most storied sides in French league history.
He spent eight years as head of global sponsor management at Uefa, and has worked for global sports agencies Fuse and WPP, collaborating with major brands such as Ford, PlayStation, Coca-Cola, Nissan, Sony and Heineken.
