ESPN ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS

ESPN International has announced several personnel moves within the company’s programming and production units.

Tim Bunnell, formerly vice president, international programming and marketing, has been promoted to senior vice president, international programming and marketing.

Bunnell will continue to oversee programming, marketing, on-air promotions, and ESPNdeportes.com on behalf of ESPN International, while working closely with the advertising and sales teams to grow ratings, advertising revenue, and subscribers for ESPN’s networks in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.

Bunnell will also co-ordinate the global programming deals with ESPN’s joint ventures around the world. Overall, Bunnell is responsible for the programming and marketing strategy of more than 90 properties across seven networks, reaching 123 countries and territories. He will continue to report to ESPN International managing director, Russell Wolff.

Mike Walters, formerly director, programming & acquisitions, has been promoted to vice president, international programming. Walters, who oversees relationships with rights-holders for key properties including UEFA Champions League, Spanish soccer, Major League Baseball, and The Masters, will add additional responsibilities for all of ESPN International’s syndication rightsholder relationships.

Walters will also have oversight of day-to-day operations of the international programming department and will work closely with ESPN International programming teams around the world. He will continue to report to Tim Bunnell.

Chris Calcinari, formerly director, international production and operations, has been promoted to vice president, international production and operations. Calcinari will continue to have responsibility for the production and operations of five ESPN networks, including ESPN Latin America, ESPN Pacific Rim, ESPN Atlantic, ESPN Dos, and ESPN Deportes.

In addition to having oversight of three different Spanish-language versions of SportsCenter, he will work with ESPN International teams in Singapore, Brazil, and Canada on developing the full potential of their SportsCenter programs. Calcinari will continue to report to Jodi Markley, senior vice president, international production, ESPN Classic & ESPNEWS.
