Whisler to sell Chicago Red Stars majority stake

Arnim Whisler has confirmed plans to sell his majority stake in National Women's Soccer League club Chicago Red Stars amid the ongoing sexual abuse scandal which continues to rock the league.

The announcement comes two months after Whisler was removed as the club’s chairman of the board and handed over operational control of the club to the executive team in Chicago, while Red Stars players issued a joint statement calling for Whisler to sell his stake in the franchise.
