Media group Viacom18 has built on its rights to the Indian Premier League (IPL) by acquiring the global television and digital rights to the new women’s edition of the T20 cricket competition for a fee of INR951 crores (€107.6m/$116.5m).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today (Monday) revealed Viacom18 as the winner of a process to secure a rights-holder which commenced with the launch of an invitation to tender last month.
