The deal, which consists of mobile telephony and internet rights, allows for coverage of an unlimited number of near-live and/or delayed video clips of key footage such as goals.
Broadcasts will be geo-blocked for user access only within the territories defined.
The rights apply also to archive video material of the 2002 World Cup.
The package will be exploited in Spanish and Portuguese languages through mobile networks affiliated to TelefC3nica MC3viles and through the Terra Networks Group for the internet. Both companies are subsidiaries of TelefC3nica S.A.
The agreement covers exclusive mobile rights for Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Venezuela and, on a non-exclusive basis, Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay and Puerto Rico (only in Portuguese).
Terra Networks has non-exclusive rights in all of the above-mentioned territories (with only delayed coverage for Brazil).
