Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders have named Hugh Weber as its new president of business operations with a brief to implement a six-year strategic growth plan outlined by majority owner Adrian Hanauer.

Weber will be tasked with leading the Sounders organization into Hanauer's six-year plan that will begin with the development of the club's new sports and entertainment site. The plan also includes a brand and community campaign to honor the club's 50th anniversary in 2024, growing the local soccer community ahead of being a host city for the men's Fifa World Cup in 2026.
