Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar Donetsk has claimed it could lose up to €80m ($85.7m) in transfer fees as a result of Fifa's extension of a rule allowing Ukraine-based players to suspend their contracts following Russia's illegal invasion of the country.

Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin said that the club will continue to challenge the decision by Fifa to extend Annex 7 to the Regulations on the Status and Transfer players until June 30, 2024.
