Premier League clubs vote to prevent owner-funded sponsorships at Newcastle

English Premier League clubs have taken pre-emptive action against Newcastle United to stop the club from sourcing lucrative sponsorship deals linked to the new Saudi ownership.

According to reports in the UK press, a meeting of the 20 Premier League clubs has voted to ban all clubs from making deals with owner-funded sponsors in the wake of United's Saudi-backed takeover.
