Pakistan Cricket Board tensions come to a head as chairman Sethi steps down

Najam Sethi has formally submitted his resignation from the role of chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, with the country’s new prime minister, Imran Khan, announcing almost immediately afterwards that former International Cricket Council president Ehsan Mani would be Sethi’s replacement.

Sethi’s role had appeared untenable ever since the election of former Pakistan cricket captain Khan as the country’s prime minister. The two have long shared a famously frosty relationship, dating back to Khan’s early political career.
