NFL season opener draws online betting increase

According to Canadian-based geolocation technology firm GeoComply, the National Football League’s opening game of the 2022 season between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams brought a major boost to online sports betting.

The number of geolocation volumes across the United States up 77 per cent to 22.6 million, compared to 12.7 million during the 2021 season-opening Thursday game. The spike shows a growing interest in online sports betting, especially in the NFL, as more states continue to legalize the practice.
