The MotoGP motorcycling championship claimed a world-first at the weekend’s British Grand Prix by showcasing a stand-alone private 5G network for sports broadcasting.
The venture saw MotoGP’s commercial rights-holder Dorna team up with the championship’s UK and Ireland rights-holder, pay-television broadcaster BT Sport, along with technology company Vislink and the University of Strathclyde.
