European Professional Club Rugby, organising body of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments, has appointed Dominic McKay as a non-executive director and as its chairman on an interim basis.

The appointment marks a return to rugby union administration for McKay following an ill-fated spell as chief executive at Scottish Premiership football club Celtic. The Glasgow club last month announced the departure of McKay after little over two months into the role due to “personal reasons”.
