Mariners cool Manchester United takeover ‘speculation’

Australian A-League football club the Central Coast Mariners said reports this week of a potential takeover by Manchester United were 'speculation', although confirmed the English team was one of several parties there had been talks with.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported yesterday that Manchester United officials had had talks with the Mariners about taking over the club's licence and moving it to Sydney.
