The World Test Championship could be discontinued with new International Cricket Council chairman Greg Barclay not convinced the current model is fit for purpose.
Barclay told a virtual media conference that the WTC, which began in August 2019 and involves the top nine international teams playing each other in a league format over two years, has not achieved what it intended to and the disruption caused by Covid-19 has highlighted its shortcomings.
