Fina, the global governing body of aquatic sports, has today (Tuesday) confirmed that Fukuoka’s staging of its World Championships has been postponed to next year due to Covid-19, with Doha’s 2023 World Championships being pushed back by two months as a consequence.

This means there will now be two editions of Fina’s flagship event within the space of a year after Fukuoka’s 19th World Championships were handed new dates of July 14 to 30, 2023. The 20th World Championships in Doha, Qatar, have been moved to January 2024.
