Cancún has been elected to replace Wuxi as host of the 2022 World Taekwondo Championships, while Bosnia & Herzegovina is set to stage its first World Taekwondo event after Sarajevo landed the 2023 World Cadet Championships.

World Taekwondo has been seeking a new destination for its premier event after it was announced earlier this month that the Championships would no longer take place in China and had been pushed back to the final quarter of the year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
