The AFF Club Championship will return next season, almost four years after the Asean Football Federation began formulating plans to revive the pan-regional competition, according to reports.
Vietnamese media outlets report the AFF Competition Committee has agreed to stage the competition from September 2023 to May 2024. It will reportedly comprise 12 teams, including two each from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, one each from the Philippines and Singapore and two more teams to be determined by play-offs. The play-offs, to be held next August, will include teams from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos and Cambodia.
