The fight, held at the MCH Herning Kongrescenter on Saturday, drew a peak audience of 1,645,000 viewers and an average of 1,342,000 (58.2-per-cent share) between 21:55 and 22.35.
“Those are phenomenal viewing figures which tell you something about Mikkel´s popularity in Denmark,” said Team Sauerland general manager Chris Meyer.
“It was a great night of boxing at MCH Herning. We cannot wait for the Super Six World Boxing Classic to get started. Mikkel is such an exciting fighter. He will fascinate the fans all over the world during the course of the tournament.”
Scandinavian pay-television operation Viasat will show Kessler´s fights in the Super Six Boxing Classic series - the £30 million super-middleweight "Champions League" of boxing invented by Showtime and Kalle Sauerland - on pay-per-view.
