NASCAR struggle with series sponsor talks

Reports coming out of the US suggest NASCAR is struggling to secure a title sponsorship for its second tier series.

For years known as the Busch Series, brewers Anheuser-Busch have opted to withdraw after this season.

But hopes NASCAR chiefs had of securing a big money deal with Subway have now collapsed, it is claimed, although there remain faint hopes an agreement could be revived.

Now series’ chiefs are said to be back holding talks with other brands in a bid to clinch a deal.

It is claimed the $30m-a-year price tag has now been dropped by close to 50 per cent.
