World Handball Championship to be held behind closed doors

The International Handball Federation has announced that its World Men’s Championship will go ahead this month behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The IHF has waited until the last minute to confirm the change, with the tournament getting underway tomorrow, January 13, in Egypt, but says it has worked closely with Egyptian health authorities to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
