Obama factor “heats up” 2016 lobbying

Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo are all believed to be wary of the International Olympic Committee membership being swayed by the charismatic appeal of US president Barack Obama, after the White House announced on Monday that he would fly in to the Danish capital to appear in support of Chicago's bid for the 2016 Games.
