English Premier League club Chelsea has named co-owner Todd Boehly as its new chairman and announced that the American will act as “interim sporting director” following the departure of director Marina Granovskaia.

Boehly, the co-owner of Major League Baseball franchise Los Angeles Dodgers and the lead figure in the Clearlake Capital consortium that bought Chelsea from Russian Roman Abramovich last month, replaces American lawyer Bruce Buck, who announced this week that he was standing down as chairman.
